Sharing: An Innovative Approach to Public Health Governance

This presentation, made during the Women in Government Third Annual Healthcare Summit on November 15, 2012, in Washington, DC, provides an overview of public health’s intersection of home rule with federal; state; and local governments, discusses the national accreditation process for local health departments, highlights cross-jurisdictional sharing (CJS) of public health services efficiencies and capacities, and introduces the Center for Sharing Public Health Service’s goals and roles of supporting CJS among the broader community of organizational partners and learning sites.
