This presentation, made during the National Association of Local Boards of Health annual meeting on August 8, 2012 in Atlanta, GA, provides an overview of public health’s past and present, highlights current issues facing local health departments, discusses cross jurisdictional sharing (CJS) of public health services efficiencies and capacities, and introduces the Center for Sharing Public Health Service’s goals and roles of supporting CJS among the broader community of organizational partners and learning sites through processes and tools, customized technical assistance, and consultation. It specifically details the Learning Community conceptualization framework and process and the Center’s methods of direct and indirect support for Learning Community teams.
