Cross-Jurisdictional Relationships in Local Public Health

Resource Summary

This article is a preliminary summary of an environmental scan that looked at various forms of cross-jurisdictional sharing relationships already in place across the country, seeking to learn how and why they were created, how they are structured, and how well are they working. Based on data collected in site visits and interviews with policymakers and local public health leaders in seven states, it draws conclusions as to conditions necessary for the success of sharing arrangements and potential barriers to success.
