One way we disseminate learnings is by sharing stories from our grantees and other public health professionals who have worked on cross-jurisdictional sharing (CJS) initiatives. Where is Pat Libbey?

April 2020 — In our Director’s Message today, we introduced you to Dr. Samuel Crumbine, a pioneer in public health. Today, we’d like to talk about a modern-day public health pioneer, Pat Libbey, who served as co-director of the Center from 2012-2018. As we announced in January 2019, Pat decided to begin a long, winding road toward retirement. We are happy to announce that he has finally made it (well, almost) to that destination. Learn more.

February 2020 — The Center for Sharing Public Health Services and the Public Health National Center for Innovations (PHNCI), with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), are co-leading the Cross-Sector Innovation Initiative (CSII). The CSII is a three-year endeavor to identify and support public health, healthcare and social services organizations striving to build stronger, sustainable connections to better meet the goals and needs of the people they serve and ultimately improve health equity. When two or more public health departments begin working together to share responsibilities, it can impact staff, community members, governing bodies and other stakeholders, many of whom may not always welcome the change.
