The Center is on the road! We are excited to be conducting the first site visit this week in beautiful Bend, Oregon, on July 30-31. We will be visiting the Central Oregon CJS Preparedness project, which is a tri-county collaboration among Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties that is exploring and implementing cross-jurisdictional sharing (CJS) as a way to enhance Central Oregon’s public health preparedness capacity.
There has been a lot of excitement among the teams about visiting peer sites and learning about their work. A team from Yellowstone/Carbon Counties, Montana, will accompany us on the Oregon site visit. We encourage all teams to let us know soon which of the 2013 site visits they want to attend.
This first site visit is the culmination of a great deal of planning and input from all of the sites in the Shared Services Learning Community (SSLC). It will be an excellent learning experience for everyone. Watch our website and the August newsletter for insights and lessons learned from the Oregon site visit.
Please log on for our upcoming webinar: Managing Change, Tuesday, August 6, at 3pm (Central). Change is at the heart of any new CJS arrangement so we think you will find this webinar extremely valuable. We ask that you invite all team members, including policymakers, to participate. More information about the webinar can be found near the end of this newsletter, under the heading Upcoming Events.
The Center team welcomes your feedback and suggestions. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
